BLACKPINK Variety Shows and Essential Content

(Updated November 2020)

This is a list of various videos featuring several or all members of BLACKPINK: short YouTube videos, variety shows, reality shows, etc. (Radio broadcasts are typically not included.) This is not a comprehensive list of every show that BLACKPINK has ever appeared on or every video they’ve done. They’re mostly videos that I’ve seen, that I find entertaining, and/or that I think are helpful to get to know the group.

IMPORTANT!!! I have moved to Korea since I created this blog, and I have discovered that many videos – especially ones that are uploaded by fans with English subs – have been blocked on Korean YouTube and other websites.  So unfortunately, I cannot watch most of these videos or verify the links anymore.  This also means I cannot add as many videos as before because they simply are not available in my region.  I’m sorry if you click on something and it’s no longer there, but there’s not really any way for me to check! – Katherine

NOTE: None of these videos are mine. They belong to their respective networks or channels. Any subtitles are either done by fans or the television network distributing the show.

PREVIOUS ERAS

For the first few years of their career, BLACKPINK did not really make a lot of television appearances or make a lot online content outside of their own reality shows. As a result, most of these pages only have a few videos each. They definitely started to make a lot more appearances from this year onward.

“Playing With Fire” (2016)“As If It’s Your Last” (2017)“DDU-DU DDU-DU” (2018)
“Kill This Love”/World Tour (2019)“How You Like That” and “Ice Cream” (2020) Reality Shows

MOST RECENT ERA: “Lovesick Girls”

This era is a mix of videos for American/English-speaking shows and Korean variety shows. BLACKPINK also released the Netflix documentary Light Up The Sky, so some of the videos are also focused on that.

PRISON INTERVIEW

Prison Interview
(인터뷰감옥)
1theK
2020
Episode 12
An escape room type of variety segment where an idol group has to find 15 hidden interview questions and missions.

AMAZING SATURDAY

Amazing Saturday
Also known as Doremi Market
(놀라운 토요일)
tvN
2020
Episode 130
Members: Jisoo and Rosé
A variety show with a fixed cast of several well known variety stars and idols and then two guest stars for every episode.  Each week features one market in South Korea.  The cast members and guests must play games to win the chance to eat one of that market’s three representative foods.

This is a highlight reel of the episode. tvN doesn’t always sub these clips (and this one isn’t subbed), but hopefully they will add them in the future.

KNOWING BROTHERS

This is a highlight reel. It’s not subbed yet, but hopefully it will be as time passes (JTBC is pretty good about adding in English subs.)

Knowing Brothers
Also known as Ask Us Anything and Men on a Mission
(아는 형님)
JTBC
2020
Episode 251
A popular variety show featuring a fixed cast of well-known comedians and variety stars. It’s known for its “high school” classroom setting and promoted use of informal language.  Celebrity guests come as “transfer students” and tell stories about themselves to get to know the cast better.  Sometimes there are also other segments that feature missions or games.

RUNNING MAN

Running Man
(런닝맨)
SBS
2020
Episode 525
A popular and long-running variety show featuring a fixed cast who completes missions with various guests during themed episodes.

This highlight reel actually *is* subbed in English and a bunch of other languages! Running Man doesn’t always sub their clips, so it must be because BLACKPINK is super popular.

“BLACKPINK Tells Us What They Really Think of Each Other”
(The Swoon is a channel affiliated with Netflic that helps promote Korean shows that are on the streaming service, so this is probably to promote Light Up The Sky.

CHARM BATTLE (NETFLIX)

They read each other cheesy pickup lines and rate each other based how charming they think they are.

PUBG MOBILE X BLACKPINK FUN MATCH

BLACKPINK endorsed and promoted popular game PUBG Mobile, so they played a match with some other Korean player/streamers.
