Group Profile: Monsta X (몬스타엑스)

“후! Monsta X! 안녕하세요, Monsta X 입니다.”

Monsta X was formed in 2015 through the MNET survival show NO.Mercy, which featured trainees from Starship Entertainment competing to become part of the agency’s next boy group. Their path to success in South Korea was more on the slow and steady side, but they rapidly gathered fans across the globe through their strong dance music, their powerful choreography, their visually stunning music videos, and their manly (and often sexy) image. As K-pop became more known on the Western side of the world, they built on their popularity with K-pop fans in the United States and started making music there – eventually releasing an American album fully in English. Today, they are a leading K-pop group who is truly successful both in South Korea and around the world.
