“To the world 여긴 NCT! 안녕하세요, NCT Dream 입니다.”
NCT Dream was the third NCT unit to debut in 2016. While NCT U and NCT 127’s lineups mostly included the older trainees from SM Rookies, NCT Dream was comprised of all of the youngest members and had a very youthful and energetic concept. The unit originally featured all NCT members who were teenagers, with the idea that a member would graduate when he became a legal adult in South Korea and new members could be added. (Mark, who was born in 1999, graduated in accordance with this system.)
As time passed and the current lineup of members became popular, SM Entertainment decided to change NCT Dream’s format. In 2020, they announced that they would cancel the graduation system and re-add Mark to the group. After the latest album Reload, NCT Dream will change to a group with a format similar to NCT U (supposedly a rotational concept) and the members will join new upcoming NCT units. Mark officially rejoined NCT Dream when they released the song “Déjà Vu” as part of NCT 2020 Part 1: Resonance. Though it wasn’t an officially promoted single, the jackets the members sport in the music video send a clear message: NCT Dream is 7.
- Members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung
- Member Age range: Members born between 1999 (Mark) and 2002 (Jisung)
- Agency: SM Entertainment
- Debut Date: August 24, 2016
- Name Meaning: NCT stands for “Neo Culture Technology.” NCT Dream is a sub-unit that was created specifically for the teenaged members of NCT (though it will now be a fixed unit), and therefore it has a more youthful concept than the other established units. The sub-unit is named “Dream” because the members want to encourage others their age to follow their dreams.

Members
Unlike my other profiles, I don’t have individual pages for NCT members because several of them are in multiple units and it could get confusing. So, I made an NCT Dream member profile with basic information, and then I have pages that cover all NCT members who have done a certain individual activity (acting, music, variety, etc.) I’m currently editing those pages and will link them when they’re updated.

(Mark is currently not in that profile, but will be added soon).
