A survival show where trainees from various Korean entertainment agencies compete to become a member of a temporary group. All four members of NU’EST made it to the Top 20, with Minhyun winning a spot in Wanna One.
Personally, I think 101 Subs is the best source for Produce 101 subs. Their work is very thorough and extremely good quality! I can’t seem to access their website anymore, so I linked their Twitter account instead.
NOTE: Since this show aired (and since I created this profile), it has been revealed that the producers for Produce 101 manipulated votes and the final line-up of many – if not all – of the groups formed through this show. As a result, it might be harder to find any episodes to watch.
“Where You At” Era
Weekly Idol fansub videos are blocked in Korea, so I can only link clips I can find on YouTube at this point. This clip is of the idols participating in a Pledis songs cover dance battle, featuring JR getting overshadowed while dancing his own song and girl group dance expert Ren fighting it out with Pristin for first place.

A popular variety show that shines the spotlight on one or more idol groups every episode. There are well-known corners that often involve dance challenges or aegyo, but the guests always play games or complete missions to earn prizes. NU’EST appeared on a “Pledis Family Special” with labelmates Raina (After School/Orange Caramel), Han Dong Geun, and Pristin (RIP). This technically aired before their comeback.

JR and Baekho
A popular South Korean talk show and variety show that often has themed episodes based on the guests that they invite. The “Sing My Song” segment is in the second half of the show and features various artists joining the MCs at a noraebang (karaoke bar). Along with the standard variety show interview and games, there’s a contest – the artists and the MCs they’re paired with get to leave when unsuspecting noraebang patrons choose one of their songs to sing. The earlier the song is placed, the higher the team’s ranking. JR and Baekho competed against Baek Jiyoung, Lyn, and SG Wannabe’s Lee Seokhoon (who was their vocal trainer on Produce 101.

Guests cook a meal and answer interview questions, but they have to be quiet and stay under a certain noise level. If they make a loud noise or talk loudly, the “mom” sleeping behind them will wake up and they have to wear something silly as punishment. (Sometimes it’s a different setting like school or the office, but there’s always a character sleeping.)
