(Updated July 2020)
IMPORTANT!!! I have moved to Korea since I created this blog, and I have discovered that many videos – especially ones that are uploaded by fans with English subs – have been blocked on Korean YouTube and other websites. So unfortunately, I cannot watch most of these videos or verify the links anymore. This also means I cannot add as many videos as before because they simply are not available in my region. I’m sorry if you click on something and it’s no longer there, but there’s not really any way for me to check! – Katherine

TWICE TV: WHAT IS LOVE
TWICE TV: What is Love
TWICE’s web series that documented behind the scenes footage for “What is Love?” Each episode focuses on a member while she’s filming the music video, and then the last one is all of them together. Episodes are available on V-Live (also on YouTube, but they’re not subbed). Click the text below to go to the episode on V-Live.
Members: Jeongyeon, Sana, and Tzuyu
A talk show featuring a fixed panel and several celebrity guests. People can write into the show about their concerns. If selected, they will appear on the show and discuss their problem. After hearing from the various parties involved, the celebrities will vote on whether the issue is truly a “concern” and offer their advice.
ASK IN A BOX
Ask in a Box
(에스크 인 어 박스)
An online segment where an idol group sits in a “box” (I think it’s just a room in white) and answers questions sent in by fans. Each member has his/her camera, so you can see multiple one-shots of different people at a time.
YOO HEE YEOL’S SKETCHBOOK
Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook
A talk show hosted by well known MC Yoo Hee Yeol. Invited artists chat with him and then perform their latest song; they’ll also occasionally perform other songs or covers.
A show structured like a news broadcast where the presenters discuss the week’s pop culture news. “School Attack” is a segment where an idol group visits a school and surprises the students there, usually through a performance or talk. They interact with student fans and then have a follow up interview with the MC.
HAPPY TOGETHER 3
Happy Together 3
Episodes 536 and 537
Members: Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun
A popular South Korean talk show and variety show that often has themed episodes based on the guests that they invite. The “Sing My Song” segment is in the second half of the show and features various artists joining the MCs at a noraebang (karaoke bar). Along with the standard variety show interview and games, there’s a contest – the artists and the MCs they’re paired with get to leave when unsuspecting noraebang patrons choose one of their songs to sing. The earlier the song is placed, the higher the team’s ranking. (Happy Together episodes have two segments, so TWICE appears in the second half of each episode).
K RUSH 3
Episodes 7 and 8
A short variety show that is geared towards the international K-pop fandom, often having segments highlighting different parts of Korean culture like travel and food. K-pop groups often appear on the regular “Idol Weekly Interview” or “Idol Master” segment to promote their latest songs and play games.
Idol groups watch their music video and talk about behind the scenes stories and parts they like.
AFTER MOM GOES TO SLEEP
After Mom Goes to Sleep
Guests cook a meal and answer interview questions, but they have to be quiet and stay under a certain noise level. If they make a loud noise or talk loudly, the “mom” sleeping behind them will wake up and they have to wear something silly as punishment. (Sometimes it’s a different setting like school or the office, but there’s always a character sleeping.)
(This clip is not subbed.)
Episode 398 (special appearance)
A popular and long-running variety show featuring a fixed cast who completes missions with various guests during themed episodes.
