Group Profile: Wanna One ( 워너원)

“All I wanna do! 안녕하세요, 워너원 입니다.”

Wanna One was a temporary group formed on the second season of the (formerly) wildly popular survival show Produce 101 by MNET. The members all came from different agencies, promoting as a group from August 2017 through January 2019. While they were active, they were one of the most well-known and famous K-pop groups in Korea, seeing unprecedented levels of popularity. Though it was revealed later in 2019 that the producers of Produce 101 had manipulated the rankings of all the show’s final groups, Wanna One’s reputation thankfully has remained intact. Basic Information

  • Members: Jisung, Sungwoon, Minhyun, Seongwu, Jaehwan, Daniel, Jihoon, Woojin, Jinyoung, Daehwi, Kuanlin
  • Member Age Range: Born 1991 (Jisung) to 2001 (Kuanlin)
  • Agency: Swing Entertainment, YMC Entertainment (former)
  • Debut Date: August 7, 2017
  • Disbandment Date: January 27, 2019 (after the last date of their solo concert)
  • Name Meaning: “Everyone will come together” (which explains all of the number/mathematics themed album names). The Korean pronunciation also sounds very close to “101,” as a reference to Produce 101.
  • Twitter: @WannaOne_twt
  • Instragram: @wannaone.official
  • Fandom Name: Wannable – I think it’s a combination of the words of “wanna” and “able,” because the official meaning is that Wanna One and their fans can achieve anything together.
  • Fandom Color: I’m not sure they ever picked one, but I affiliate them with light blue (the color of Produce 101 Season 2).
