Baekhyun’s Role in SuperM: Out of all of the SuperM members, Baekhyun’s role is the most straightforward. He is the only member who is a main vocalist in his original group, so he also holds that position here. He’s also the leader of SuperM as he is the oldest member (and because Taemin didn’t want to do it). He confirmed both of these positions during SuperM’s appearance on Knowing Brothers.
Important Things to Know: Baekhyun debuted in 2012 as a member of the super popular boy group EXO. He is also a member of the subunit EXO-CBX (with Chen and Xiumin), which released music in 2016 and 2018. He has dabbled a bit in acting and other activities, but his main focus has always been music. In 2016, he released the duet “Dream” with famous idol-actress Suzy, and it was incredibly well-received and popular in South Korea. Since then, Baekhyun has continued to build his discography with lots of different collaborations and OSTs. He started his own solo career in 2019 and has quickly become one of the most popular male K-pop soloists. In 2020, he sold over one million copies of his second mini album – the first solo artist to do so since the early 2000s.
