EXO Select Achievements

This is a list of some of EXO’s achievements, most notably from the past few years. I say “some” because I don’t have easy access to streaming and record sales from their earlier years.  I usually use Soompi as a reference for any information about things like Gaon Chart and Billboard, and Soompi only started to publish weekly articles about the charts around late-2017/early-2018. So, most of my information is from Don’t Mess Up My Tempo on (though there is a bit of The War mixed in there. But if you look at their music show wins and awards, you can see just how popular they were in other years as well.

Sales and Streaming

2018

• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo placed #1 on Gaon’s album sales chart the week of October 28 – November 3.
• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo sold over a million copies, making EXO “quintuple million sellers” (as all of their previous albums had also sold over a million copies. EXO is also the first group that debuted after 2000 to sell over 10 million albums.
• In 2018, EXO was the artist with the most albums sold since Gaon Chart’s establishment in 2010.
• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo placed #1 on Gaon’s monthly album sales chart for November, while “Tempo”ranked #1 on the digital download chart.
• Love Shot placed #1 on Gaon’s album sales chart and “Love Shot “ranked #1 on the digital download chart the week of December 9 – 15.
• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo placed #1 on Gaon’s album sales chart the week of December 23 – 29.
• Love Shot and Don’t Mess Up My Tempo placed #1 and #2 respectively on Gaon’s monthly album sales chart for December.
• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo and Love Shot placed #3 and #7 respectively on Gaon’s 2018 album sales chart (with EXO-CBX’s Blooming Days placing #9). This is especially impressive because both of EXO’s albums were released in November and December.

2019

• Don’t Mess Up My Tempo officially received a million certification from Gaon.
• Love Shot was certified double platinum for selling over 500,000 copies.
• Obsession placed #1 on Gaon’s album sales chart and “Obsession “ranked #1 on the digital download chart the week of November 24 – 30.
• Obsession placed #1 on Gaon’s monthly album sales chart for November and the weekly album sales chart for December 1 – 7.
• Obsession was certified triple platinum for selling over 750,000 copies.
• Obsession placed #1 on Gaon’s monthly album sales chart for December.
• Obsession placed #3 on Gaon’s 2019 album sales chart. This is especially impressive given that the album was released in late November.
