Wanna One Member Profiles: Maknae Line

IMPORTANT NOTE! Now that Wanna One has disbanded, I’m going to do minimal updates for each of the members – mostly just their (or their group’s) latest music video or a big acting project or something like that. Also, since I have moved to Korea, I have discovered that many videos – especially ones uploaded by fans with English subs – have been blocked on Korean YouTube and other websites.  So unfortunately, I cannot watch most of these videos or verify the links anymore.  I’m sorry if you click on something and it’s no longer there, but there’s not really any way for me to check! – Katherine

To my knowledge, Wanna One never officially announced their exact roles and positions within the team.  Therefore, what I’ve written here is mostly educated guesses on my part after watching them on Produce 101 and analyzing their performances.

JIHOON (지훈)

Real Name: Park Jihoon (박지훈)

Claim to Fame on the Show: Becoming insanely popular for his looks.  He went viral after fans noticed his wink on the M! Countdown performance of “Pick Me,” and managed to hold the top spot in the rankings for five weeks.  He never dropped below #3.  He also became known for his cute catchphrase “save me in your heart.”

Post-Disbandment:

Before Jihoon went on Produce 101, he was a child actor who appeared in many musicals and television shows. After Wanna One’s disbandment, Jihoon returned to Maroo Entertainment and is now promoting as an actor and a singer. He recently acted in JTBC’s Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, which was both a historical drama and a romantic comedy. He is currently in talks to star in another upcoming drama.

Fandom Name: May. It has two English meanings: his birth month and possibility (ex: “This may happen”).

Jihoon debuted as a soloist on March 26, 2019 with the single “L.O.V.E” and the album O’Clock. He currently has two mini albums and is preparing for a spring comeback.

Other Activities Outside of Wanna One (during active period):

Jihoon was the one member who didn’t do any solo activities while he was part of Wanna One. He was often one of the members sent to do variety shows during promotions, but he never appeared on one by himself.
