Birthday: March 22, 1994

From: Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
Agency: Star Crew Entertainment (formerly known as Ardor&Able when he was on Produce 101)

Produce 101 Initial Ranking (Episode 1): #34
Produce 101 Final Ranking (Episode 11): #11
Notable Produce 101 Performances: Boy in Luv (Team 1), Downpour, Show Time, Super Hot

Claim to Fame on the Show: His massive surge in popularity towards the end.  Around Episode 8, he was terrified that he would be eliminated.  So he worked extremely hard and was the only person on his team who was brave enough to show the choreography by himself during evaluations.  He shot to #3 in the second to last episode, and got one of the two center positions during the final broadcast.  His announcement as the final member on Wanna One was probably one of the biggest surprises of the show.

Sungwoon in “Boomerang” (2018)

Sungwoon originally promoted as a member of HOTSHOT from 2015-2017 with fellow Produce 101 contestant Noh Taehyun (who temporarily promoted with the project group JBJ). After Wanna One’s disbandment, Sungwoon returned to his agency and has been promoting as a solo artist. He debuted with the single “Bird” on February 28, 2019, and has released two mini albums so far. He has a successful career as a solo artist, with several music show wins, variety show appearances, OSTs, and his own solo concert.

Other Activities Outside of Wanna One (during active period):

A well-known and popular variety show with a fixed cast that sometimes invited idols and celebrities for special episodes.  Sungwoon appeared on a special for short male idols.

Master Key
(마스터 키)
Episode 8
A variety show with a fixed cast and celebrity guests. The players are split into two teams, playing games to win clues and find out who is holding the Master Key. If a team guesses correctly at the end of the episode, they win a prize. (Fellow members Daniel and Seongwu were part of the fixed cast).

King of Masked Singer
(미스터리 음악쇼 복면가왕)
Episode 158
A singing competition show similar to The Voice. Contestants perform head to head in three elimination rounds, but their identities are hidden by elaborate masks and costumes. Thus, the panelists may only judge the winner based on his or her voice.

Law of the Jungle
(정글의 법칙)
Episodes 325-329
Season: Sabah (Malaysia)
A show similar to the American reality show Survivor, but without an elimination system. Celebrities (idols, actors, comedians) go to remote and secluded areas of the world, learning to survive in the wilderness through tasks like hunting for food and making shelters. Sungwoon went with fellow member Seongwu.

Sungwoon also helped compose and write lyrics for “Flowerbomb,” one of Wanna One’s B-sides on their final album 1¹¹=1 (Power of Destiny).
