Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I realize that many people who read this blog aren’t actually from the United States, but I think that taking a moment to be grateful is something we can all relate to. I have a lot to be thankful for this year both personally and professionally, but here on this blog I’m very grateful for all of you lovely followers. It’s been a crazy year, and I’ve found myself with little spare time to make new content. So, it means a lot to me that you still come here even when I haven’t been that active. Now that my busy schedule is winding down, I’m excited to jump back into things!
Which leads me to my first update: I recently uploaded my latest group profile on NCT! I’ve actually been working on it since March when they released Empathy, but it took a very long time because of all of the different members and sub-units. I think I just missed “Regular” era when I finally uploaded, but now I can pretend that I’m on time for “Simon Says.” (Also, you should give that song a listen if you haven’t already because it’s excellent).
Because of NCT’s unconventional setup, I had to structure the profile a bit differently from the other ones that I normally make. The NCT profile itself mostly has basic information on the group and its members as a whole, and then the three official sub-units have their own more detailed page. There are a lot of links that lead back to the same places, but I hope that it’s fairly easy to navigate! Click on the picture below to take a look:
Or if you’d prefer to jump right into one of the subunits, click on one of these:
And now for what I’m planning for the rest of the year! I’ve thought about it a lot, and I’ve decided I’m going to use the rest of this month and December to completely update what I already have on this blog. (Especially since nearly every group I profile is having a comeback right now) 2019 is going to have some major life changes for me, so I think it’s a great time for Katherine Does K-pop to have a fresh start. WordPress just updated their editor, which means I can do lots of cool new things – but it also means I need some time to figure out how to do them. So for the next month, my goal is to have everything updated and in a new format.
However, there will hopefully be a few new blog posts coming out too! I still have to recap my time at KCON LA, and I’m planning on making some end of year themed stuff as well. I started preparing my “Top 50 Songs of 2018” list so I can actually post it before the year ends! I’m a little hesitant to do MAMA predictions this year, since MNET essentially ignored their own criteria and gave awards to whomever they wanted… but I’m still ruminating on it, so I guess I’ll see how I feel closer to the time.
That’s all for now! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, no matter where you are or what you celebrate. And I look forward to showing you a new and improved site in the New Year!
Love always, Katherine
