Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part Four: #21-30
Okay, let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way: there are a bunch of boy groups in this post. Apparently, this is the part where I decided to put all the comebacks that have attractive men with intense auras. (Fortunately, the rest of the Top 50 will be more diverse!) I tried to be asContinue reading “Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part Four: #21-30”
Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part Two: #41-50
It’s hard doing rankings when you’re multifandom. Your favorites change like clockwork, and you literally like everything. I’ve been stubbornly pretending I don’t have a new ultimate bias for a month now, because I’ve switched four times this year alone. The only thing that’s ever certain is that you want all your bias groups toContinue reading “Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part Two: #41-50”
Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part One: #51-100
About a year ago, I kicked off this blog with my 50 favorite K-pop songs of 2016 listed by season. This time, I decided it would be fun to do an “official” ranking. So, I grabbed a set of index cards and wrote down all the songs I wanted to talk about… only to endContinue reading “Katherine’s Top K-Pop Releases of 2017, Part One: #51-100”
Favorites of 2017: September
September started off what is turning out to be a long string of boy group comebacks, and my tastes are reflected accordingly. I really do try to stay balanced and listen to both girl and boy groups, but unfortunately, that doesn’t always work out. I confess that I spent most of my attention on EXOContinue reading “Favorites of 2017: September”
Rapid(ish) Reviews, September 2017: B1A4, B.A.P., GFriend, and More
August was hectic, and October and November are shaping up to be just as wild. So September provided a nice little breather! Things were on the lighter side, but there were still plenty of comebacks to enjoy. I’ll admit I spent most of my time fangirling over EXO and BTS, but some of my otherContinue reading “Rapid(ish) Reviews, September 2017: B1A4, B.A.P., GFriend, and More”
Favorites of 2017: August
This was a crazy month for K-Pop. There was so much going on it took me all the way through September to catch up! It’s probably because I spent most of August focusing on SNSD’s 10th anniversary and Wanna One’s debut, but there were plenty of great new releases. Sometimes these posts are biased becauseContinue reading “Favorites of 2017: August”
Rapid(ish) Reviews: August 2017 (GFriend, Sunmi, Winner, and more)
Frequent readers of my blog will know I started out mainly writing reviews of K-POP’s latest releases. I still really enjoy doing those, but they’re super time-consuming. On average, it takes me about two days to do all the research, make GIFs, and actually write the review…and that’s when I’m focused! If I did that forContinue reading “Rapid(ish) Reviews: August 2017 (GFriend, Sunmi, Winner, and more)”
Favorites of 2017: March
(Oops, we’re already over halfway through April….) As I predicted, March was all about the boy groups for me. Though of course several girl groups had solid comebacks, most of my attention was consumed by favorites like Got7 and Monsta X. But no matter your preferences, there was something for everyone this month.
B.A.P. Comeback Review: “Wake Me Up”
In my last post, I mentioned that I liked BTOB more for their personalities than their music. I feel the opposite way about B.A.P. I do enjoy their variety shows and broadcasts, but I literally became their fan because of one song. Last fall, “Skydive” smashed into my life to become one of my favorites. I was really movedContinue reading “B.A.P. Comeback Review: “Wake Me Up””
